Single Black female, born about 1868 in Alabama. Her parents were both born in Virginia. She died 8 November 1898 in Pensacola, FL, of sarcoma of the breast. At the time of her death, she was working as a cook and had been in the city about a year. Her doctor was H.L. Simpson, and she was buried by Robinson Pou funeral directors in the Escambia County Poor Farm cemetery.
Her death notice appears in the paper but does not provide any further information. While there are several Sallie Browns to be found in Alabama of the right age, no records include the detail that her parents were born in Virginia.
