Francisco Philibert*

An enslaved male of color in the household of Don Pedro Philibert in Pensacola, Florida.

Born 2 April 1820. Race is not recorded.

Baptized on 3 May 1821 by Father James Coleman at St. Michael’s Parish (Pensacola). Mother was Celeste, a mulata woman enslaved in the same household. Father was not mentioned in the baptismal record (this usually meant the father was unwilling or unable to acknowledge the child).
