Born around 1812 in the Mississippi Territory. Race is recorded as parda.
Baptized 7 October 1817, St. Michael’s Parish, Pensacola, by Father James Coleman. At that time, her age was estimated at about 5 years old. The record does not name either of her parents. Godparents were Juan Luis Sierra, an enslaved man; and Maria del Carmen Gayarre, an enslaved woman.
