Ysabel Innerarity*

An enslaved girl of color in the household of John Innerarity.

Born in the Tallapoosa Nation around 1812. Race is not recorded.

Baptized on 29 June 1819 by Father James Coleman at St. Michael’s Parish (Spanish Pensacola). At that time her age was estimated at about 7 years old. Mother was Menti, a negra woman enslaved in the same household. Father was listed as unknown in baptismal record (this usually meant the father was unwilling or unable to acknowledge the child).
