White male, born about 1861, birthplace unknown. Died at the Turberville Hospital in Century, FL on 2 December 1939 at the age of 78. He was a laborer at a sawmill, and his residence was listed as McDavid, FL. He was widowed at the time of his death, but where information on his place of birth, his spouse, and his parents should have been, there is only “DK,” or “Don’t know.” The funeral home record notes “No known relatives.” So, either he had not been living in the area for very long, or no one at the hospital bothered to ask.
According to death records, Beall fell into a fire in the woods in Bogalusa, in the first part of November 1939 and his clothing caught. He died from burns over his left leg and entire back which became infected. The death certificate lists it as an accident. The informant on the death certificate was Turberville Hospital, where he was treated by Dr. J.I. Turberville beginning November 10.
He was buried in the Escambia County Poor Farm cemetery by Fisher-Pou.
