Isom Bacon

Black male, born about 1842. Died of mitral regurgitation in Pensacola, FL on 30 April 1917 at about 75 years old. The death certficate was issued in Kuprfrian’s Park, and the informant on the death certificate was A.T. Rice, who was superintendant of the Escambia County Poor Farm. This would generally lead one to assume Mr. Bacon had died at the Poor Farm, but the words “County Poor Farm” were scratched out. Isom was a laborer, but there is no more information about him or his parents. He was buried in the Escambia County Poor Farm Cemetery.

Isom Bacon is proving difficult to find and I believe research under broader variant spellings might be warranted, given how little personal information was available on him.
